A poem that I have penned for a friend. Enjoy!
Don's Days
------------
Those were the days,
We were in a daze
Running around in a maze
Strong bonds are forged
As the night curtains fall
You are our shoulder to lean on
Our shoulder to cry
In unity we stand
In laughters we triumph
You would always be remembered
As sure as the dawn
Here is our best wishes to you
May the sun shine, all day long,
everything go right, and nothing wrong.
May those you love bring love back to you,
May all the wishes you wish come true!
The Life of a Working Mother. Being a mother is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me. Journey with me as I find the strength, inspiration and vision within myself.

Celestial Bodies, Aileen
It has been a very long time since I last published a blog post. I was overwhelmed by the amount of work - both from the personal and professional front. I grieved over the passing on of my beloved father. I struggled and am still struggling to find a good work-life balance.
Along the way, I was confused. At times, I was consumed by anger. This is so wrong. I have decided to pick myself up again. The whole world can be unfair to me, but it cannot hurt me unless I give it the permission.
Below was a poem which I have written to spur myself to become a stronger person. Maturity does not come with age. Rather it is the journey that one transverses and how one rolls along with the punches of life.
We can all be celestial bodies. Do stay tune for my next blog post. I will find time to do so.
Celestial Bodies, Aileen
Once upon a time, Earth grimaced when the sun was out
Life came to a standstill
Darkness engulfed
End of world loomed
But it was only for a short while
Dawn cracks again
As brightness gently shines throught the dark clouds
Just like Phoenix rises from ashes
There have been struggles
There have been doubts
Love triumphs all
Adversity builds character
Character makes life
Life is reborn
A new sun rises
It aims to shine brightly
Yet it is happy to play second fiddle
When the old returns
It is born out of the old
And will keep on burning
Bringing light and life to Earth

Things that Matter Most
Things that matter most, Aileen Chua
The suburbia vibe is in the air
It's hot and humid But memories are alive
Of how crisp, dry air smells
Cauldron boils and bubbles
With homemade goodness
Just like in the yesteryear
When the children were toddlers
Father was the main breadwinner
And mother took charge at home
Money was enough to go by
Patience in abundance
Taking time to smell the roses
Driving around to see the world
A thousand miles away from home
Yet it brought us close to things that matter most in life
Be kind, be thankful and be grateful
The virtues we remind our children
The values that help to make one's mark in life
And to always stand tall and proud
Not the As, the grades, the marks The yardsticks for ease of ranking
Lacking in so many ways
And short in the long haul
But before one condemns
What are we doing to change for the better?
Begin by taking baby step
To pause and think for a while And focus on doing what is right

Scenic Switerland, by Aileen
Oh magical mighty mountains
With the sound of music as if they were alive.
They bring us joy as our feet tap along.
Ah amazing awesome alps
With bountiful fresh air for all to breathe
We are in awe of the grandeur of nature
They remind us of our insignificance
They open our hearts
To forgive and rjoice that we are alive!
With the sound of music as if they were alive.
They bring us joy as our feet tap along.

They open our hearts
